Well I survived the dentist yesterday. As you all know I had my upper 4 front teeth veneered last June. Well, 1 didn’t seem to want to heal. We tried shaving off some length a few times and still it didn’t help. Finally my dentist told me I needed a root canal. I wasn’t too pleased with this, but if it was the only way for fixing the tooth then I was willing.

Since I hadn’t had a cleaning in 5 years(this was only cause I had other teeth that needed fixing first) we threw that in and fixed an old mercury filling that had started to bother me. All together I was in the chair for about 2 1/2 hours. We did the cleaning then the root canal and finally the filling was replaced.

It all went well. I didn’t even need to have the bite block put into my mouth. Normally I would cause I have a hard time keeping my mouth open for longer than 10 minutes at a time. I guess I was so relaxed from the pills they gave me. The hygienist was surprised at how clean my teeth were after 5 years. It only took her 40 minutes to clean them. She said my bottom front teeth had the most plague, otherwise everything was pretty easy to clean. I told her I floss after every meal. She said to keep doing it and do it more on the bottom and they will stay cleaner longer.

So flossing is a good thing…great!

On our way home we stopping at McDonald’s, yes I know YUK!  I don’t eat there anymore, but I wanted some fries and a vanilla milkshake. I was so hungry and to me, that was also comfort food. I also had a plain hamburger. It was yummy. We then headed home.

As soon as we got home I got into my PJ’s and laid down on the sofa and crashed. I slept for about 4 hours. Woke up starving! Gregg made me some soup. Through out the evening I felt good. No pain. Then at 3am the pain started. I woke up took some pain meds and tried to sleep.

Well I didn’t sleep much and I’m in a lot of pain today. My mouth feels like one big bruise. I guess I’m having oatmeal and soups for a couple days. I did look at my teeth this morning and they are clean 🙂 Now I just need to whiten them. Which will have to wait till all the pain is gone. My next visit is in 6 months to get them cleaned again. I plan on keeping up with the cleanings now that most of the dental work has been done.

So that was my day.

We found a great dentist out here and have both older kids seen. Mikayla got a referral to an orthodontist for her crowding and a cross bite. Joshua needs a few fillings. So we’ll be making a few trips to the dentist. I think I need to find a good book to read for those appts.

Lots of work you got done. On the bright side its over for awhile now.
    Take care.

Ouchie! I guess I shouldn’t tell you that we had steak and lobster for dinner today. Oops! Sorry!
