I want to share some of my favorite songs with you all. I have added a player to my blog and I will added songs as I find them. The Player is on the left sidebar. Press play and you can listen to the songs.

The one that is on there at the moment is very special to me. When I hear it I think of my son Matthew. He has the most beautiful brown eyes I know of, but I am is mother so I would think that…lol. Well, the song means a lot for me. When he was small life wasnt very easy. I tried my best to be a good mom to him. So this song says a lot. I know that someday Matthew will have Mars and the whole universe in his pocket.

Here are the lyrics…

Lori Mckenna MARS

Well there’s a hole wearin’ through this couch of mine
And all of the cushions are falling out
One little piece at a time
You might see yourself in me
But I don’t see nobody I know
This isn’t the way I figured it would be when I figured it
A long time ago . . . a long time ago

Well there’s a rule me and my little boy have
You’ve got to say I love you before you close your eyes
And he can dream himself to sleep and I can play or cry
One thing I have taught him well is to never wonder why
Why, wonder why

And I see Mars reflecting in my little boy’s brown eyes
And he says Mama I’m gonna get there someday
Mama I’m gonna get there someday
And I say fly

Well you can hold the whole entire world in your hands
Or you can borrow all of your lessons from me
Well life is not a question, son
I tell him life is just a dream
It’s not as bad as it looks right now
Because nothing’s as bad as it seems
Not as it seems

I see Mars reflecting in my little boy’s brown eyes
And he says Mama I’m gonna get there someday
Mama I’m gonna get there someday
I see Mars reflecting in my little boy’s brown eyes
And he says Mama I’m gonna get there someday
Mama I’m gonna get there someday
And I say fly

Well there’s a hole wearin’ through this heart of mine
And all of the filling is falling out
One little piece at a time
But I see Mars reflecting in my little boy’s brown eyes
And he says Mama I’m gonna get there someday
Mama I’m gonna get there someday
And I say fly . . . I know you can fly . . .

Kenny Chesney, what can I say I love this man. He has a beautiful voice. Ever since I first heard him sing I knew he would be part of my music collection forever. He makes memories come alive. His songs are full of happiness, fun and good times, but you can also feel the sadness in some of them. I have many favorites and its hard to pick just one, so I’ll pick a few. These are my top 5 favorites.

  • Me and You - this was one of our wedding songs

Ordinary no, really don’t think so
Not a love this true
Common destiny
We were meant to be
Me and you

Like a perfect scene from a movie screen
We’re a dream come true
Suited perfectly for eternity
Me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There’s no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Every day I live
Try my best to give
All I have to you
Thank the stars above
That we share this love Me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There’s no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Ordinary no, I really don’t think so
Just a precious few
Ever make it last
Get as lucky as
Me and you
Me and you
