Self-Medicated

So its here again. Tomorrow is mom’s day. What are you going to do? I will be going to mom’s for lunch. She has made Borscht and buns for anyone that is stopping by… YUM! We’ll go and eat and sit and chat for a bit. I’m sure other family members will show up too.

As for me, well I dont really do anything for my mother’s day. No special breakfast, no gifts or flowers not even a card. Why? Well I guess its just not that important. I’m lucky if my kids remember to call me on their own without someone reminding them to do it….lol. Even though they are grown ups now, they still forget. (Its a man thing.) I guess in a way I dont really deserve to have this day. Just because I gave birth doesnt qualify me to be a mother. A mother has to earn the right to be appreciated. If all you do is give birth to a child and then arent there to be a mother then you cant really celebrate mother’s day, can you? Nope, I dont think so.

Since Gregg’s mom is gone and his family doesnt do anything that I know of, it just makes the day an annoyance for me. I feel like I shouldn’t even talk about the day. Its a day we sort of try to pass over as quickly as possible. I feel some guilt for dragging him along for lunch tomorrow.

So that is Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you that have earned your title. You deserve the praise! Being a good mother is a tough job.
